Even Angels Sleep

Awake, though beauty rests
Somnolent in repose
Classically defined resonance
in each breath
defying contact by virtue
of sheer ethereal shimmering
the moonlight draws a sublime path
on the deftly draped supine
treading softly where vision
can linger, but for an instant
without feeling a heartsick longing
to visit the realm governed
by so noble a grace
a gentle breeze, a stirring
the stars wheel in their paths
as night continues towards dawn
which greets a loves new day.
